Simple sentence :-
Subject + has been / have been + Verb ( 1st form of verb ) + ing + objectExamples :-
- He has been writing a novel for an hour
- The birds have been chirping since morning
Negative Sentences
Subject + has not been + / have not been + Verb ( 1st form of verb) + ing + objectExamples:-
- I have not been reading since noon.
- He has not been reading her lesson for two hours.
Interrogative Sentences :-
Has / Have + subject + been + verb ( 1st form of verb ) + ing + ______ ?Questioning word + Has / Have + subject + not + been + Verb ( 1st form of verb ) + ing _____?
Examples:-
- Has she been writing book for three years ?
- Why have you not been helping the needy people ?
To express an action which began some time ago in the past and which is still continuing.
